James Jonathan Jackson volunteered as a Captain to the Confederate States May 20, 1861. He had previously enlisted in the Creek war as a Private on June 13, 1836, and later as a First Sergeant in the Seminole War. He appears on Co. G 15th Reg. N.C., Inf Vol Muster Roll for June 12, 1861. Signs Muster Roll as Company Commander Aug. 31, 1861 at Camp Clarke. J.J. Jackson served in the CSA until May 2, 1862. J.J. Jackson died in December, 1879.
