Enlisted as a private on 28 July 1861, age 28,  5 ‘6″ tall, was a farmer. Captured at Battle of Roanoke Island, NC on 8 February 1862. POW for two weeks, paroled and later exchanged. Enlisted in Co. A  8th NC State Troops as a private and camp cook. No further records.
