Walter Vitalious Foster was born on 15 December 1914, in North Carolina, the son of William Thomas Foster and his wife Lucy Stribling. On mARCH 6, 1841, in Carroll Co., Georgia Walter married Elizabeth Traylor. They later moved to Randolph Co., Alabama, where Walter enlisted as a private in Co. D, 3rd Alabama Reserves. His oldest son, William Joseph Foster having enlisted as a private in the 33rd Alabama Infantry. Walter Vitalious Foster died on 25 December 1900 and is buried at Gibbs Chapel Cemetery in Blount Co., Alabama.
