When Patrick Henry Lesesne was born on May 15, 1842, in Williamsburg, South Carolina, his father, Francis James Lesesne, was 27 and his mother, Amarintha Nelson Plowden, was 24. He had five brothers and two sisters. He was killed at Swift Creek on May 9, 1864, near Petersburg, Virginia at the age of 21.
